I am a Director and Creative Producer of opera. My work focuses on building cohesive, visually powerful and emotionally resonant worlds on stage. Having trained in theatre, I am particularly inspired by how music shapes dramatic storytelling. I balance creative ambition and curiosity with a practical and sensitive approach to making things happen.

I am a Director and Creative Producer of opera. I trained in theatre at the University of Warwick and the Central School of Speech and Drama. My directing credits include Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte, Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Verdi’s Macbeth. As Founder and Artistic Director of HighTime, I established a mid-scale opera company that was appointed artist in residence at the Belgrade Theatre. We produced vivid and captivating interpretations of opera performed by exceptional artists, while connecting deeply with the local community to provide operatic experiences for those who may never have engaged with the artform before. At HighTime, we developed a pioneering approach to opera translation, establishing a writers’ room with artists from a wide range of disciplines and championing the diversity of opera creatives’ skills and experiences. Around 65% of our audiences were not regular opera attendees. We initiated the first relaxed performance at the Belgrade Theatre and collaborated with Mind to provide supportive theatre visits for those experiencing mental health issues. The company also delivered opera workshops to 2,000 children and young people from across the region.More recently, I have focused on new approaches to opera. I co-wrote and directed an opera-cabaret with drag queen Davida Loca, performed in unconventional spaces including the Shoreditch Treehouse and Brunel Museum. As Creative Producer and Director, I recently received support from Arts Council England to develop A Standard of Care - a new work for voice and orchestra based on the testimonies of medical workers’ experiences of the NHS.

Standard of Care is a new opera developed with NHS workers, examining the unique pressures and experiences of the healthcare workforce. The project examines where the current challenges in healthcare come from, and what it is like to live inside them. By centring clinicians’ experience, it asks what conditions are required to deliver care, and what happens when these begin to fail. With support from Arts Council England, I am working with an award-winning team including Composer David John Roche, Librettist Sam Redway Wells and Dramaturg Zoe Templeman Young, supported by doctor-musicians Susan Harris and Alex Aldren.
